Tall Maples Farm was established in 1990 by Edward and Dixie Hughes, after a visit to a horse sale in Ohio. They started with one horse named SCV Impressiveheir, and slowly gained and sold horses over the next few years.
Then in 1993 Edward and Dixie got a chance to show the world their hard work with a horse named Moons Cotton Candy at the Paint World Show in Fort Worth, Texas. Moons Cotton Candy won the Hunter Hack Competition. Moons Cotton Candy went on to win many more awards and recognition, and with that brought more attention to Tall Maples Farm, in Hampstead, Maryland.
Today the list of awards and horses has grown longer, and Tall Maples Farm is more involved in the American Paint Horse world, with events, classes, sales, breeding, and now, a website.
